Yes, it's me.
I'm alive. (Shocker, I know.)
It has been a long time, and I'm ashamed to say that I forgot about DeviantArt for the most part. Oops. Heck, I haven't been as active on Tumblr, either. Pretty sure I've only been active on Facebook and Instagram because I'm a moron like that.
So what have I been doing for the past 10 months?
*We moved in December! Yay! The apartment is all decorated and pretty and aside from a few boxes we unpacked pretty quickly! The stuff still boxed is either seasonal or for-when-we-have-kids (yay hand me downs).
*I got a job in January! I work for Michaels craft store.
I'm part time but really love my job. I work mainly the cash but sometimes the floor. I like both and customers are usually pretty awesome. I mean, it's a craft store. (There are a FEW people I'd like to smack with a squeaky mallet but they are few and far between.) I am one of the strange people who enjoys retail.
*I have learned to knit! This consumes a great deal of free time as I watch TV and knit with my hubby. I should probably share some photos eventually.
*I wrote my first campaign and was the DM for a few months with our Dungeons & Dragons group. It went pretty well and I think I'll do better next time.
*I went to Ottawa Comic Con in May with the hubby and made him Snape's teaching robes. He looks divine. I should upload pics.
*Hubby and I won first and second place (respectively) at the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child launch party costume contest at our local bookstore! We were also on the news, albeit briefly. It's cool. I have a screen shot. Should post that, too.
*I went to Chicago for my mom's birthday. It was awesome to go back.
*One of best friends is pregnant! So is my other friend. And my other friend. And my other friend. I am surrounded by pregnant people and I am happy for them but sad it's not me.
*My cat continues to be adorable and insane.
*I got to teach a class at work! I taught the Craft Pumpkin class - a floral arranging class, basically, and I think it went well. I wouldn't mind teaching more classes.
*I have so much yarn. This is a problem.
*I lied it's not a problem I totally need more yarn.
*World of Warcraft: Legion is out and consumes the rest of my free time. I love the expansion and the story but I don't think this expansion is going to be alt-friendly. Hopefully they will make some changes, or once I've done everything on my main it'll be easier to divide time between daily grind and leveling some alts.
*I really love mugs that change with temperature. I just do.
*I saw movies! Loved Warcraft. Loved the new Ghostbusters SO MUCH. Star Trek was actually way better than I thought it would be from the trailer.
*Having moved, I have been closer to people! I have FRIENDS. What even is this, okay? I've had crafting parties and people over and it's been lovely.
*I have a knitting group most weeks, and my neighbour comes with and she's awesome. We get along great, it's wonderful to have a neighbour I am friends with AND talk to. And go knitting with! Teehee. <3
*I am still happily married to the incredibly sweet and handsome and sexy Bobby. It'll be four years in April and it doesn't feel nearly as long.
*Time escapes me a lot. Seriously, I barely know what day it is and I know it's October but my work has had Halloween and Fall stuff since July so I have no idea what month it is sometimes. I end up going "Oh god it's ____??!?" and then not reply to people or reviews or checking sites and then of course the crippling anxiety over having taken so long kicks in and I go into avoidance mode. I have 329 emails and everything is terrible because how do I reply after a year-ish of no answer? What.
*I wrote for the SSHG Promptfest, and have signed up for the SSHG Giftfest. I love my two fests and I love my OTP. ♥♥
*Canadian Thanksgiving is the 10th (if I recall correctly) and my mother in law is nagging me about it. I really don't want to see her for the holiday she is a terrible cook and I feel sorry that animals gave their lives for her to kill them all over again. (I love her, she's just annoying lately.) She also tends to go overboard on "Katie can't have much dairy"-yes I can I just need to take a lactaid- and ignores my actual allergy which causes migraines and my throat to start swelling. Eating at her place is like running through a minefield blindfolded.
*I still have my Etsy up. Debating adding some knitting items on there. We'll see.
*I am hoping to host Christmas Eve dinner at my place! Don't know yet what the work situation will be like for Bobby and I so I am trying to plan an easy menu, perhaps do a lot of prepwork in advance and the liberal use of the crockpot for the main dish. Haven't decided on a menu yet aside from "definitely hutspot because it's Dutch and traditional and easy to reheat the day of and frankly mine is delicious shush now".
*I want to learn to crochet next year/when my Christmas gift list is done.
*I got a haircut. It's cute.
*I am planning a Harry Potter themed Christmas tree this year. Many crafts planned to make this happen.
*I am going out for sushi tonight and then to knitting!! Yay~!
